The National Day of Giving, held this year on November 29, turned into a spectacular day of receiving for Saint Francis Healthcare System Foundation’s Parents With Hope fund. The one-day Giving Tuesday campaign added more than $70,000 to a fund that provides financial assistance to families of premature or critically ill newborns in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Members of the Foundation Board accepted a challenge to match the first $10,000 in donations from the public, and community members – including many first-time donors – came through with more than $60,000 in donations during the single-day fundraiser.
Founded by Jason and Leigh Ann Siener after the premature birth of their twin boys on December 23, 2006, the Parents With Hope fund has helped more than 520 families during its 10 years of existence. The fund has disbursed in excess of $126,500 to help offset expenses such as lodging, food and travel expenses for families throughout our five-state service region.
You can make direct donations to the Parents With Hope fund through Saint Francis Healthcare System Foundation. For more information about giving opportunities, please contact our office at 573-331-5133.
